Ran west with Ben, Nina and Jarrett to target some fall Steelhead off of the western tribs. Unseasonably warm temperatures made the fishing difficult but we managed to finish the day boxing 5 nice Steelhead. Program consisted of small stick and crank baits off of the inline boards.

Fished the day with Rick and Dawn. Set out to target Steelhead at the west side tribs. Due to unseasonably warm water temperatures we were only able to box 1 Steelhead in the first few hours. We decided to make a run outside in order to target some late season walleyes. We managed to finish the day boxing 7 nice Walleyes and 1 Steelhead. Program remained the same as the previous trip..
Fished the day with Nick and Penne. Started by looking for Steelhead off of the western tribs. After striking out the first few hours of the day, due to warm temperatures and water, we ran out deep to target some late season walleyes. We finished the day boxing 7 nice walleye and 2 nice perch. Set up consisted of 7 LC with and w/o adding some weight, towing deep divers in purple.
Took a trip to Lake Ontario with Frank, Jeff and Chris. Fished out of Olcott, NY. Caught several nice mid sized kings along with a mixed bag of Steelhead, Browns, Cohos and Lake Trout. The most productive set up was wire divers towing spin doctors in white w/ green dots with pro am & green glow flies.
Fished the Great Lakes Tackle - Summer Invitational Tournament this weekend with Ron, Chris and our observer provided by team Mother Moose - Gerry. This was a two day, no cull tournament in which you could weigh a maximum of fifteen fish a day. No cull, meaning that the first 15 legal fish over the back of the boat had to be kept.
Day 1 - We started NE off of the mountain. We started with a steady walleye bite in the morning which turned to a grind bite by mid morning. Several small fish and losing a couple 8 lbers at the back of the boat really spoiled our day. We went 16 / 20 on walleyes and 0 / 1 on Steelhead. We weighed our best 15 walleye for a total of 83.51 lbs with our biggest fish being 8.81 lbs. Day 2 - We ran NW of the point in an effort to find bigger Walleye and more Steelhead. Once again the first rod in takes a bite on the way out, only to be a 7 lber which is lost at the back of the boat and our day 1 jinx continues. We finished the day 15 / 19 on Walleye and 1 / 2 on Steelhead. Unable to find the big ones we weighed our 15 fish limit for a total of 82.18 lbs including a 9.08 lb walleye & a 8.05 lb. walleye. We managed to land a 12th place fininsh with a 2 day total of 165.69 lbs of walleye weighed. For full tournament results: 2013 Great Lakes Tackle - Summer Invitational Results Fished the day NW of the point with Bob, Jim and Nick. A stiff W / SW wind kept us on a one way slide east for the day. We boated 8 walleye and 4 Steelhead. Four of the walleye were between 8 - 9.5 lbs. Program consisted of 5 LC and 7 LC off of the boards pulling RR 800's.
Ran NW of the point to the same area as the previous day w/ Brian and Natasha. The lake was flat as we dropped lines and the action was instant. Brought 18 walleyes over the stern icing 16 and sending two back in and going 1 / 2 on steelhead. Excellent lake conditions and great fishing made it an ideal day to be on the lake. Program remained the same as the previous day.
Headed out NW of the point with Kurt, Ron and Josh on a rough/choppy lake which made for a bumpy wet ride. We set up and the lake began to lay down. After an early morning lull things heated up and we pulled 21 walleyes, filling three tickets with 3 going back in and 1/1 on steelhead. Program of the day consisted of 5 & 7 LC with deep divers off of the boards.
Went perch fishing on a flat lake with Denny, Mitch, Jake, Ben and Jessie. We managed a steady pick most of the day fishing 52 - 56 FOW from the point west to the lighthouse. Shiners on Sabiki rigs proved to be the most productive.
Another windy day with big waves made the run NW with Shawn, Christy and Zane, bumpy and wet. We dropped lines with one option, go which ever way the waves pushed us. This made for a slow pick. Halfway through the day we got a small break when the winds shifted, this gave us an opportunity to salvage the day by boxing 9 walleye while sorting though the junk.
